This role integrates Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Aftermarket to drive cost competitiveness, lead times, and margin improvement.

Job Purpose

The Manager, Remanufacturing Supply Chain is the accountable business and supply chain leader responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing Progress Rail's remanufacturing value chain. The role integrates Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Aftermarket, Operations, and Finance to deliver cost‑competitive, high‑quality remanufactured products with improved lead times, availability, margins, and customer value.

This position is intended to use the Caterpillar Product Lifecycle leadership structure as the closest base, while explicitly expanding accountability for remanufacturing supply chain performance, core availability, Clear‑to‑Build, lead time, cost, supplier performance, inventory, margin improvement, and commercial integration.

Business Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead the remanufacturing supply chain strategy across product families, sites, and customer requirements.

Procurement, Supplier & Cost Management
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans that improve total cost of ownership, supplier reliability, quality, and scalability.
  • Lead cost‑reduction, deflation, value engineering, should‑cost, and supplier development initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance and Aftermarket to ensure cost, pricing, and margin objectives are visible and actively managed.
  • Create supplier performance scorecards that include on‑time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
Engineering & Product Lifecycle Integration
  • Partner with Engineering to accelerate print validation, engineering change execution, configuration management, and manufacturability improvements.
  • Ensure product lifecycle decisions support remanufacturing cost, recoverability, standardization, lead time, and customer service outcomes.
  • Create cross‑functional visibility to engineering constraints that affect CTB, revenue, cost, and customer commitments.
Core Management & Inventory Strategy
  • Build and sustain a core acquisition, recovery, replenishment, and utilization strategy aligned to demand and commercial priorities.
  • Improve visibility to core availability, yield, inventory turns, and recovered component flow.
  • Balance service levels, working capital, core inventory, finished goods inventory, and turnaround time.
Aftermarket & Commercial Alignment
  • Partner with Aftermarket Sales and Operations to improve customer responsiveness, revenue velocity, and product availability.
  • Support commercial models that connect supply reliability, platforming, lead‑time improvement, cost competitiveness, and margin expansion.
  • Identify product families and customer segments where remanufacturing can create differentiated value.
People Leadership & Operating Rhythm
  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing team grounded in accountability, collaboration, ownership, and operational discipline.
  • Establish monthly and weekly operating reviews with clear escalation paths, actions, owners, and measurable outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, data‑driven decisions, cross‑functional problem solving, and customer focus.
Education / Training

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Finance, or related discipline.

Qualifications And Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, Product Lifecycle, or Aftermarket.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives with measurable cost, inventory, service, and profitability outcomes.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with cost management, margin improvement, inventory productivity, and business case development.
  • Experience building supplier strategies, performance governance, and total‑cost‑of‑ownership improvement plans.
  • Proven ability to establish operating cadence, KPIs, accountability structures, and executive‑level performance reviews.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience in remanufacturing, aftermarket, heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing, rail, or high‑complexity component environments.
  • Knowledge of core management, component recovery, reverse logistics, product lifecycle management, and customer‑service supply chains.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM, CPSM, or similar continuous improvement / supply chain certification preferred.
  • Experience leading global supplier networks, multi‑site operating models, and business transformation efforts.
  • Ability to travel as required.
