A leading company in performance-defining products is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee quality standards and lead the Quality team. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience in Quality Engineering within a mechanical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will manage quality metrics, lead quality initiatives, and drive process improvements, contributing to the successful launch of new model year products.

Position Summary:
Plans and oversees activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards. Responsible for the Quality System and leading the Quality team on regulating an entire product division. Manages and provides direction to junior level Quality Engineers, production line auditors, incoming inspectors, and the administrative support required in the Quality Department. The scope of this position includes the responsibility for successful launch of new model year products, developing and monitoring the quality system and metrics related to the production of the product, monitoring quality metrics reported to our customer, and responding to warranty/field issues and driving the appropriate corrective actions within the organization.
Position Responsibilities:
· Lead Quality personnel responsible for plant operations quality; verifying supplied components through standard and PPAP inspection and working with the Supplier Quality Manager to monitor and improve supplier quality, measuring and improving production quality, reporting the Customer Voice back to the organization.
· Establish quality goals and objectives for the plant as well as for individuals on the Quality team.
· Directs workers engaged in measuring, testing, and tabulating data concerning quality and reliability.
· Be the representative of the Quality System for the plant facing internal and external customers. This includes developing reports and presenting the performance and direction of the manufacturing Quality System to senior management.
· Support DFMEA/PFMEA activity with Design and Manufacturing Engineering. This will include participating in FMEA cross-functional reviews, oversight of Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers in the proper development and maintenance of FMEA’s, approve RPN reduction activity, and drive continual improvements through an ongoing “RPN reduction” process.
· Support the implementation of effective, efficient, and documented Quality Systems throughout the company compliant with ISO 9001. Develop/update and implement Quality procedures and forms, including training.
· Drive data collection, analysis, and reporting for established Quality reports including Discrepant Material, Cost of Quality, Supplier Report Cards, production line First Pass Yield, Quality System/Control Plan Audits, and customer quality report cards.
· Aggressively drive resolution of FOX production and FOX supplier quality issues by applying 8D problem solving type tools, arriving at data driven conclusions, and supporting the implementation of effective solutions. Reduce reject rates by driving process control improvements at the system or part level.
· Develops and implements standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge from various engineering fields, including chemical, computer, electrical, or mechanical.
· Establishes program to evaluate analytical testing, equipment, facilities, precision measurements, accuracy measurements, and performance testing.
· Performs engineering work to evaluate manufacturing processes or performance improvement projects for optimization.
· Duties also may include driving improvement “Kaizen” events with a team and the development of processes to ensure that quality, cost, and efficiency requirements are met.
· Interfaces with all other engineering components within the organization as well as customers and suppliers on quality related issues.
· Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality or other technical field.
Must have automotive experience.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in a Quality engineering role within a mechanical manufacturing environment.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

May lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time
Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
