Job summary

PLUS Communications in Arlington, VA is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to develop and execute comprehensive communications plans, shaping policy messaging for diverse audiences and coordinating with clients and external vendors.

The role involves drafting media and messaging materials, leading grassroots campaigns, managing media outreach, and creating presentations and collateral while tracking deliverables across key accounts.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in public affairs or communications.
• Proven experience in writing and editing materials and working with the press.
• Strong understanding of AP Style.
• Interest in public affairs and policy issues; ability to synthesize technical content.
• Understanding of the communications landscape and how various channels work (digital, print, social, broadcast).

PLUS Communications is looking for a Public Affairs, Manager to play a key role developing and executing communications plans – including message and content development.

What we require:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in public affairs or communications, ideally in an agency or Capitol Hill/administration setting.
• Proven experience in writing and editing materials and working with the press.
• Strong understanding of AP Style.
• Interest in public affairs and policy issues; ability to synthesize technical content.
• Understanding of the communications landscape and how various communications channels work (i.e. digital, print, social, broadcast).

The budgeted salary is $75,000 and there is an opportunity for a year-end bonus.
