Job Details: Job Location: Dallas, TX 75241, ECI Management Group is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Food Service General Manager to oversee our dining operations at the University of North Texas at Dallas.

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with experience in college dining, restaurant management, catering, and high-volume food service operations. This individual must be organized, detail-oriented, financially responsible, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

The General Manager will oversee daily café operations, retail dining, coffee service, catering, staffing, inventory, food costs, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of campus dining facilities, including residential dining, retail cafés, coffee service, and catering.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise food service employees and management staff.
• Maintain strong working relationships with university administration, faculty, students, and ECI leadership.
• Monitor food costs, labor costs, purchasing, inventory, and overall financial performance.
• Ensure accurate inventory counts are completed and submitted on schedule.
• Manage food purchasing, vendor relationships, and product deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
• Oversee catering events, including planning, staffing, execution, and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and customer service.
• Ensure proper cash handling, POS procedures, deposits, and financial accountability.
• Develop and implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
• Address employee performance concerns and maintain a professional, respectful work environment.
• Communicate regularly with the District Manager regarding operations, staffing, financial results, and campus needs.

Qualifications: Required:

• Minimum 3–5 years of food service management experience.
• Experience managing high-volume food service or multiple dining operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of food cost controls, labor management, purchasing, and inventory procedures.
• Experience with scheduling, payroll, and POS systems.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation requirements.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to pass applicable background checks.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in college or university dining services.
• Experience managing catering operations.
• Experience overseeing multiple food service concepts.
• ServSafe Manager Certification.
• Experience with food service budgeting and profit-and-loss statements.
