Overview:
The Manager, Policy and Compliance - Certification is responsible for overseeing Certification's compliance frameworks and proactively monitoring industry trends, laws, and regulations to keep the Certification business unit ahead of regulatory change. At its core, this role ensures the certification team stays current on regulatory developments and partners with cross-functional teams to effectively integrate policy expertise into Certification Operations. A core part of this work involves translating complex policy and technical regulatory requirements into clear, plain language that clients and internal stakeholders can easily understand and act on.
This role also oversees the Policy and Compliance team's escalation-based support for analysts' review work, providing guidance and hands-on support when compliance-related escalations arise during application and monitoring reviews. A key part of this role involves partnering closely with the legal and research team to ensure internal compliance frameworks remain current, certification standards and terms and conditions are updated as needed, and escalations related to denials, suspensions, and certification operations are adequately addressed — including joining external calls as needed.
This role also carries responsibility for leading critical calls with clients around complex compliance concerns and considerations, at times requiring close coordination with LegitScript’s legal team given the sensitive nature of these conversations.
As the leader of Certification's subject matter expertise, the Manager, Policy and Compliance, will partner closely with the Director of Certification Program Risk Strategy in guiding certification jurisdictional and scope expansions.
