Description

Manager Patient Financial Services - Financial Clearance

Full-Time | 1.00 FTE | Day Shift

Salary Range: $42.06 - $63.10 per hour
The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This is a remote position. If selected, candidates must reside and perform work within Oregon, Washington, or Alaska, and must be located within a one-hour drive of a main PeaceHealth hospital facility.

Lead a team that helps patients access care before they ever receive it.

If you've built a career in revenue cycle leadership and you're ready to move beyond simply managing numbers, this is an opportunity to lead a team that directly impacts a patient's ability to receive care. At PeaceHealth, our Financial Clearance team helps patients navigate insurance requirements, authorizations, and financial processes before treatment, ensuring fewer barriers and a better experience when it matters most.

Why PeaceHealth? Why Now?
  • Your work influences patient access. Financial Clearance is often the first step in a patient's care journey, and your leadership helps remove obstacles before they become delays.
  • Lead people, not just processes. You'll coach, develop, and support a team whose work makes a meaningful difference for patients and families every day.
  • Drive improvement with autonomy. You'll have the opportunity to identify challenges, implement solutions, and shape workflows that improve both patient and team experiences.
  • Partner across the organization. Work closely with operational, clinical, and revenue cycle leaders to create a seamless experience from scheduling through treatment.
  • Join a mission-driven health system. PeaceHealth combines the resources of an established healthcare organization with a culture that prioritizes compassion, service, and community impact.

You will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of Financial Clearance.
  • Help ensure patients are financially cleared for services without unnecessary delays.
  • Remove barriers that may impact a patient's ability to access care.
  • Guide and support team members through coaching, mentoring, and performance development.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop high-performing caregivers.
  • Set clear expectations and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and service outcomes.
  • Review operational data and use insights to improve results.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and the patient experience.
  • Collaborate with leaders across Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, and clinical departments.
  • Ensure department practices meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Manage department budgets, staffing plans, and resource needs.
  • Support education and training initiatives that help caregivers grow their careers.
  • Create a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, service, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and professional experience that provides the knowledge and skills needed to perform this role.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of revenue cycle experience within a hospital or health system setting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Epic.
  • HFMA, MGMA, or AHIMA certification.
  • Epic certification in one or more hospital claims or revenue cycle workflows.
Skills for Success
  • Ability to lead teams and achieve operational and financial goals.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations.

  • Experience using data to identify trends, solve problems, and improve performance.
  • Working knowledge of EMR and revenue cycle systems.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
