Job summary

Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages LLC is seeking a Manager of Operations Fleet to lead fleet maintenance across our Philadelphia, Marmora, and production-center assets. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and cost-effective operation of transportation fleets and material handling equipment.

Summary

The Manager, Operations Fleet is responsible for leading all fleet maintenance operations across Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages' Philadelphia and Marmora Distribution Centers as well as Philadelphia and Moorestown Production Centers and Customer Care Fleet assets. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the maintenance, repair, and reliability of the company's transportation fleet, material handling equipment, Vans and maintenance facilities.

The Manager, Operations Fleet oversees maintenance supervisors, technicians, and administrative personnel while driving a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This position is responsible for preventive maintenance programs, regulatory compliance, labor and vendor management, budget oversight, inventory control, and fleet reliability to ensure all assets operate safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

The role partners closely with Operations, Distribution, Safety, and Supply Chain leaders to maximize fleet availability, minimize downtime, and support business objectives.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Lead all fleet maintenance safety initiatives and actively promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Reinforce stop-work authority and ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA/DEP, environmental regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct routine safety meetings, facility inspections, equipment audits, and safety observations.
  • Manage contractor and vendor activities to ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain all required maintenance, inspection, and compliance documentation.

Fleet & Equipment Management

  • Direct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for the company's fleet and material handling equipment.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair activities for tractors, trailers, forklifts, yard trucks, service vehicles, and other fleet assets.
  • Ensure all equipment remains safe, roadworthy, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and operational issues.
  • Develop and implement reliability improvement initiatives that increase asset uptime and reduce breakdowns.

Planning & Scheduling

  • Establish and maintain effective maintenance planning and scheduling processes.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to support operational goals while minimizing disruptions to service and productivity.
  • Prioritize work orders and allocate labor resources to support preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs, and emergency breakdowns.
  • Monitor maintenance backlog and ensure timely completion of all work activities.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
  • Support employee development through training, mentoring, succession planning, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, engagement, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Asset Management & Systems

  • Own and optimize the Maintenance Management System in CONA and Motive, including asset records, work orders, maintenance history, PM schedules, labor tracking, and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Analyze maintenance trends and identify opportunities to improve fleet reliability and efficiency.
  • Track, rank and publish KBI's including PM compliance, TCO, Cost per mile, Cost per asset.

Financial & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage fleet maintenance budgets and capital expenditure plans.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
  • Manage parts inventory to ensure optimal stock levels while controlling inventory expenses.
  • Lead vendor selection, contract management, and service provider performance reviews.
  • Evaluate repair-versus-replace decisions and make recommendations that maximize asset life-cycle value.
Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Supply Chain, Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive fleet maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing supervisors, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Experience managing medium to large transportation fleets in a distribution, manufacturing, beverage, food, or logistics environment preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • DOT Inspection Certification
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not required

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance operations, vehicle systems, diesel engines, trailers, refrigeration units, material handling equipment, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Thorough understanding of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, environmental, and transportation regulations.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS and fleet management systems, (CONA and Motive).
  • Proficiency in, Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to work in a warehouse, distribution, and maintenance shop environment.
  • Ability to walk facilities, inspect equipment, and work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Travel between Philadelphia, Moorestown, and Marmora facilities as needed.
