Job summary

Naparksohio in New Albany, Ohio, seeks a Manager on Duty to supervise daily recreation center operations, deliver customer service, handle cash and memberships, resolve guest issues, and ensure safety protocols are met while managing the front desk.

Under the direction of the Facilities and Operations Manager, you will oversee front desk staff, open/close the center, coordinate room setups for programs, and respond to incidents per approved action plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer service or supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain them within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the recreation center securely and coordinate with front desk staff.
• Greet members and guests and provide program or schedule information.
• Supervise front desk staff and facility monitors; assign tasks and breaks.
• Operate the cash register and POS system; process cash receipts, passes, and registrations.
• Handle member complaints, injuries, or emergencies following safety plans.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Facilities and OperationsManager, the Manager on Duty supervises daily facility operations, deliverscustomer service, handles cash and memberships, resolves guest issues, andensures safety protocols are met while managing the front desk.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• FacilityOperations: Open and close the recreation center securely. Check all areasfor safety hazards and cleanliness. Work in partnership with front deskemployees to set up rooms and areas within the recreation center forprograms. Attend regular meetings with the Facilities and OperationsManager.
• CustomerService: Greet members and guests warmly. Answer phone calls and provideaccurate program or schedule info. Work in partnership with front deskemployees to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
• StaffSupervision: Oversee front desk staff and facility monitors. Assign dailytasks and break schedules.
• FinancialDuties: Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system. Process dailycash receipts, passes, and program registrations accurately.
• IncidentResponse: Handle member complaints, injuries, or emergencies calmly.Follow standard safety and emergency action plans.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Experience:Minimum 1 year of customer service or supervisory experience. Backgroundin recreation or hospitality is preferred.
• Education:High school diploma or equivalent. College coursework in sports managementor recreation is a plus.
• Certifications:Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain themwithin 30 days.
• Skills:Strong communication, problem-solving, and basic math skills. Ability tomultitask in a busy environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of education, training and experience whichprovides the required knowledge , skills, and abilities to perform theessential functions of the position. High School diploma or GED required. Threeyears of related work experience. A valid state driver's license is required.Must be First Aid, CPR and AED certified within 30 days of hire date.
