Job summary

Medical City Arlington is seeking a Manager of Surgical Services to lead the Operating Room team. The role focuses on directing and evaluating nursing care for all surgery patients, and collaborating with the OR Educator for staff training and development.

Required qualifications include 5+ years in OR nursing, 2 years of management, a Bachelor's degree, and Texas RN licensure. BLS is required; ACLS/CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of professional nursing care in the Operating Room by assessing, planning, organizing, directing and evaluating care for all surgery patients.
• Collaborate with the OR Educator on education and training of department staff.
• Develop staff through needs assessment, goals, objectives, and evaluation measures.
• Maintain policies and procedures and fiscal responsibility for the department.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Assures the delivery of professional nursing care within the Operating Room by assessing, planning, organizing, directing and evaluating nursing care provided to all surgery patients; collaborates with the OR Educator in education and training of all department staff both in the initial implementation phase and on an ongoing basis; develops staff by department specific needs assessment, development of goals and objectives, implementation methods, evaluation measures; develops, maintains and interprets policy and procedures; maintains fiscal responsibility for department.

What qualifications you will need

• Recent experience in Operating Room Nursing of at least 5 years required.
• 2 years of management experience required.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Provider BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• ACLS or CNOR preferred.
• Current State of Texas RN license or compact state license required.
