Job summary

Medical City Arlington seeks a Director of Nursing for the Medical/Surgical division. You will oversee Orthopedics, Telemetry, Oncology, and Neuroscience units, directing daily operations, staffing, and policy implementation to uphold high-quality patient care.

Lead budget development, capital projects, and quality improvement initiatives while partnering with the nursing leadership team to drive safety, efficiency, and staff development across the hospital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Master's degree preferred for leadership role.
• Current Texas RN license or compact license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 5+ years in Med/Surg or related setting.
• Minimum 5+ years in healthcare leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Med/Surg unit operations including Orthopedics, Telemetry, Oncology and Neuroscience.
• Plan, direct and coordinate operational activities; develop policies and quality programs.
• Develop capital and operating budgets and ensure staffing through hiring and retention.
• Lead staffing optimization to maintain safe, high-quality patient care.
• Contribute to the hospital's leadership team and public perception.

Job Summary And Qualifications

This position oversees the operations of the Med/Surg units, including Orthopedics, Telemetry, Oncology, Neuroscience and the Nursing Resource team. Plans, directs and coordinates all operational activities for areas of responsibility. Develops policies and procedures as well as the quality improvement programs for areas of responsibility. Develops the capital and operating budgets. Ensures areas of responsibility are appropriately staffed by hiring and retaining competent staff. As a member of Medical Center Arlington's management team makes a significant contribution to the public's perception of the hospital. Performs additional duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from an accredited, professional school of nursing.
• BSN required. Master's Degree preferred.
• Current Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• Minimum 5 or more years of experience in a Med/Surg or related setting required.
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare leadership experience required.
• Additional significant experience in area of specialty is preferred.
