The Manager of School-Wide Assessment, Data and Accountability will oversee the planning, implementation, and analysis of school-wide assessments while ensuring full compliance with state-mandated testing requirements. This includes the accurate administration of state tests, timely reporting of results, and conducting ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and overall school performance. In addition, the coordinator supports mandatory training sessions, assists in the collection and analysis of student data, and ensures that assessment practices are aligned with both school and district goals. A key responsibility of this role is to assist stakeholders in utilizing data to inform interventions and instructional practices aimed at improving student outcomes. As well as support the school with compliance requirements for submission of data to the DC Public Charter School Board, OSSE and other regulatory agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assessment Coordination and Management

  • Organize and manage school-wide assessments, including all school, state and district-mandated testing.
  • Ensure the administration of assessments is consistent, timely, and within guidelines.
  • Develop schedules for testing windows, proctor assignments, and prepare materials.
  • Coordinate logistics for assessments, including test security and sub-group alignment (IEP, EL) aligned to guidelines.
  • Support staff in preparing students for assessments and providing training on test-taking strategies.

Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting

  • Collect, track, and manage student assessment data across multiple platforms.
  • Analyze assessment results to identify trends, gaps, and areas of improvement at both the student and group levels.
  • Work closely with teachers and leadership to interpret data and make actionable recommendations for instruction.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to share data insights with stakeholders, including staff, administrators, and the school board.
  • Regularly update and maintain data systems to ensure accurate, real-time information for decision-making.

MTSS Data Support

  • Collaborate with school leadership and teachers to integrate data into the MTSS framework.
  • Use student data to support the identification of early intervention and tiered support for students struggling academically, socially, or behaviorally.
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of individualized plans for students receiving interventions.
  • Support monitoring of grade level and student progress within MTSS, ensuring that interventions are effective and adjustments are made when needed.

Mandatory Training and Professional Development

  • Provide professional development on interpreting data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Stay current with best practices in data use, assessment, and accountability requirements, ensuring that the school complies with all state and federal regulations.
  • Offer ongoing support and coaching for teachers and staff to enhance their data literacy and capacity for using data to drive instructional decisions.

Accountability and Compliance

  • Ensure that the school meets all state and federal testing and accountability requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and external reviews related to assessments and data management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student data and ensure compliance with data protection laws.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, the DC Public Charter School Board, district, and state regarding assessment, accountability, and data-related matters.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with school leadership, teachers, and other departments to set assessment and data goals aligned with the school’s vision.
  • Engage parents and guardians about assessments.
  • Support student-focused decision-making by collaborating with special education teams, EL staff, and academic coaches.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Adhering to the 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. in person work day, Monday through Friday
  • Be on time for classes, duties, team meetings and professional development activities.
  • Participate in weekly Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings with classroom teachers.
  • Participate in all division data meetings.
  • Participate in a Summer Professional Development.
  • Seek out additional opportunities for professional development that will lead to achieving personal and school-wide professional development goals.
  • Respond to all emails within 24 hours or the next business day.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Data Analytics, Psychology, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in Education or related field (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in education, with a focus on assessments, data analysis, or school administration (required).
  • Knowledge and experience working with student data systems, state assessment tools and processes, and MTSS frameworks.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of educational assessment practices, data analysis, and educational software tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including teachers, administrators, students, and parents.
  • Ability to interpret and present complex data in a clear and actionable way.
  • Familiarity with federal and state accountability regulations (ESSA, state assessments, etc.).
SALARY & BENEFITS

$82,500 - $104,500

Salary is based on educational level, certification(s), and years of experience.

A $2000 add-on will be awarded to those with a valid, relevant DC certification.
