Job summary

ImOn Communications in Sioux City, IA, seeks a seasoned Manager of Network Operations to lead planning, operation, and growth of the company’s telecommunications network infrastructure.

You will supervise Network Administrators, oversee design and modernization of networks, manage IP, VoIP, IPTV, and related technologies, monitor performance, mentor staff, and drive strategic initiatives to ensure high availability and scalable services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Business Admin, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in technology operations management.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• 3+ years of experience in telecommunications industry.
• Strong knowledge of IP Networking, VoIP, IPTV, Ethernet, HFC, FTTH, Wireless and transport technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Network Administrators and Operations staff.

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Network Operations to lead the planning, operation, maintenance, and growth of our telecommunications network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of voice, data, and video networks while leading a team of network professionals. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership skills to support business growth, drive network modernization initiatives, and maintain high levels of service availability.

What you will do

• Lead and supervise Network Administrators and Network Operations personnel.
• Oversee the design, expansion, modernization, and optimization of telecommunications networks.
• Manage network infrastructure, including IP, Ethernet, VoIP, wireless, microwave, satellite, SONET, HFC, FTTH, and IPTV technologies.
• Monitor network performance, capacity, and reliability, implementing improvements to minimize downtime and enhance service delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute technology strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Develop and present business cases, project plans, and technology recommendations.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, budgets, and third-party service providers.
• Oversee data center operations, ensuring 24/7 availability, uptime goals, and incident response protocols.
• Lead network upgrades, installations, repairs, and infrastructure improvements.
• Mentor, train, and develop team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to support innovation and operational excellence.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience managing and/or directing technology operations.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• 3+ years of experience within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications and networking technologies, including: IP Networking, VoIP, IPTV, Ethernet, HFC, FTTH, Wireless and transport technologies
