Job summary

MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas is seeking a Director-level Manager of Med/Surg to oversee daily unit operations, staffing, and clinical quality. You will drive patient-centered care and coordinate across disciplines to support hospital goals.

You will lead scheduling, staff development, and budget management while maintaining high standards of safety and patient experience. A Healthcare leader with RN credentials is expected to guide a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred and must be obtained within 2 years of hire/promotion
• 2+ years of applicable experience required
• Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice and/or an active compact license
• BLS and ACLS required
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) required

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily function and staffing of the unit/department and monitor nursing care in alignment with policies to ensure quality outcomes
• Manage nursing practice and unit operations; coordinate interdisciplinary care across departments
• Provide leadership to enhance patient experience and attract, develop, engage, and retain talent
• Manage staff scheduling and operating expenses; identify cost-reduction opportunities and implement actions

Job Summary And Qualifications

• You will ensure high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/ department, and will monitor and evaluate the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/ procedures, holding staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives
• You will manage nursing practice and unit operations and facilitate effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments, ensuring staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs
• You will provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience, leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance, and build a competitively superior organization through attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent, ensuring people with the right skills and motivations are in the right role, at the right time, to meet business needs
• You will manage staff scheduling, maintaining staffing in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines; manage operating expenses, including the utilization of supplies and equipment; and identify cost reduction opportunities and implements actions to achieve savings

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred; required within 2 years of hire/ promotion
• 2+ years applicable experience required
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation required
• BLS, ACLS required
