**Responsibilities**

**Job Summary:**

Ascension is seeking a creative and mission-driven Content Creation Manager to join our External Communications team. This role will develop compelling, multi-platform content that strengthens our storytelling and elevates our national reputation. Supporting corporate, advocacy, digital, and earned media efforts, the manager will lead original writing, visual storytelling, and integrated campaign development—grounded in Ascension’s Mission and the impact we have in the communities we serve. This position reports to the Senior Manager of External Communications.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Write and edit a variety of content including op-eds, articles, blog posts, newsroom stories, leader narratives, media materials, social media materials, executive communications, and more.

+ Collaborate with communications and digital teams to adapt content for website, social media, press, and executive visibility.

+ Support story sourcing and development from across Ascension’s national and market-level operations.

+ Uphold voice, tone, and messaging consistency across all external-facing content.

+ Coordinate with internal communications, marketing, and designers to ensure strong visual storytelling support.

+ Ensure content aligns with guidelines and strategic goals.

+ Monitor performance of published content and iterate based on insights.

**Qualifications:**

+ 5+ years of experience.

+ Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio demonstrating versatility across formats.

+ Experience developing content for digital platforms, media use, and organizational storytelling.

+ Comfort working with subject matter experts to translate technical content into compelling narratives.

+ Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-aligned organization preferred.

+ Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field.

**Requirements**

Education:

+ High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
