Based in Hoover Institution's home office, this position oversees the administrative activities of the Development department, including human resources compliance, vendor management, finance and budget management, gift processing and data reporting/business intelligence. The role serves as the primary liaison to Hoover’s Finance and Information Technology teams.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Development, the Manager of Development Operations manages a team of three direct reports: two data analysts and one gift processor/administrative support staff member. The role is responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing this team, including performance management and professional growth. The position also manages the department's vendor relationships and oversees production of data reports and business intelligence deliverables. In addition, the role helps build and manage Development's annual expense budget and gift income projections.
The Manager of Development Operations serves as the primary liaison between Development and two key partners: Hoover's Finance team, on budget management and financial reconciliation, and Hoover's Information Technology team, on data security and compliance. The role will also lead the Development data team through a transition to a new donor database system.
The successful candidate brings a very high level of attention to detail, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and proven leadership experience. Preferred experience includes managing system transitions and familiarity with Stanford University systems, including Oracle.
