Job summary

Montgomery College is seeking a strategic Manager of Classification & Compensation to design and execute compensation programs that attract and retain top talent. You will lead a team, partner with campus leadership on workforce planning, and drive pay equity initiatives across the college.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 6+ years in compensation, including 2 years of supervision; CCP is a plus. This hybrid position includes telework up to two days per week and a generous benefits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Six years of progressively responsible experience in compensation, classification, HR, or related areas.
  • Two years of supervisory or people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of classification and compensation professionals.
  • Partner with leadership on compensation strategy, workforce planning, and talent initiatives.
  • Drive complex classification and compensation projects including organizational reviews and change management.
  • Oversee job architectures, classifications, and position descriptions for consistency and alignment.
  • Design and administer competitive compensation programs, salary structures, and market pricing.
  • Provide expert guidance on pay equity, compensation analytics, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, agreements, and policies.
  • Leverage data to inform budgeting and long-term talent strategies.

Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $155,534 annually.**This position is eligible for telework up to two (2) days a week**.
