Job summary

The MRI Manager at Children's of Alabama will oversee the day-to-day operations of the MRI department, 3D lab and the Imaging scheduling department, ensuring safe, compliant, high-quality pediatric imaging. The role requires leadership, independent judgment, and collaboration with anesthesia, child life specialists and physicians to deliver compassionate care.

Schedule is full-time on the Day Shift, M-F, 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Qualifications

  • 5 years MRI experience with imaging diagnostics.
  • 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
  • ARRT Registered Radiology Technologist and MRI Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of MRI, 3D lab and imaging scheduling.
  • Ensure safe, efficient and compliant MRI services.

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, Salary Position, M-F, 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Summary

The MRI Manager is a healthcare professional responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the MRI department, the 3D lab and the Imaging scheduling department. This role ensures that MRI services are delivered efficiently, safely and in compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. The MRI Manager performs all duties necessary to work in areas of responsibility with decision making ability to make independent judgments. The MRI Manager assures appropriate patient care management and adjusts daily operations to meet the needs of a changing working environment. In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined below, expected to demonstrate exemplary leadership, verbal and written skills. To accomplish the overall hospital mission, you will be expected to exhibit integrity, teamwork, innovation, commitment to personal development and commitment to children.

  • Essential: Associate degree in Radiology
  • Nonessential: Bachelor’s degree in Radiology or other health-related field preferred
Experience
  • Essential: 5 years’ work experience in MRI; 1 year of supervisory or management experience
Credentials
  • Essential: Registered Radiology Technologist & MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Non-Essential: ARRT registered in another imaging modality

MRI is an imaging test that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to make pictures of organs and structures inside the body. The MRI team at Children’s of Alabama is where cutting-edge technology meets compassionate care. As a vital part of our imaging department, you’ll work with advanced 3T MRI systems and on a 1.5T system to perform critical diagnostic scans that guide pediatric patient care. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of technologists, nurses and Physicians ensuring the highest quality imaging while providing a calm and comfortable experience for children and their families. The MRI team uses a few methods to ensure quality images. We work closely with the Anesthesia department, child life specialists and can play age-appropriate movies to distract the patient during the exam.
