Children's of Alabama in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a MRI Technologist to perform MRI imaging on pediatric patients, following established protocols and producing high-quality images for physician interpretation.

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Evening Shift, 10 hour shifts 11:30 am to 10 pm.
Provides healthcare services utilizing MRI imaging technology to assist in the medical diagnosis. Completes MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to the medical ethics. Provides patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. As a MRI technologist you must carry out specific responsibilities of your job, plus vision of the hospital. MRI is an imaging test that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to make pictures of organs and structures inside the body. The MRI team at Children’s of Alabama is where cutting-edge technology meets compassionate care. As a vital part of our imaging department, you’ll work with advanced 3T MRI systems and on a 1.5T system to perform critical diagnostic scans that guide pediatric patient care. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of technologists, nurses and Physicians ensuring the highest quality imaging while providing a calm and comfortable experience for children and their families. The MRI team uses a few methods to ensure quality images. We work closely with the Anesthesia department, child life specialists and can play age-appropriate movies to distract the patient during the exam.
