We have an immediate opening for a Market & Consumer Insights Manager at our Corporate Headquarters. This is a hybrid role based in Glen Allen, Virginia. As a Market & Consumer Insights Manager, you will play a crucial role in understanding consumer behavior and translating this knowledge into actionable strategies for business growth. You will lead consumer research projects, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence product development, marketing strategies, and business decisions.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead and manage consumer research projects, including qualitative and quantitative studies, such as focus groups, surveys, consumer panels, and ethnographies.
  • Analyze consumer behavior, trends, and market data to derive actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Identify emerging consumer trends and shifts in the marketplace that could impact product development and marketing strategies.
  • Develop and deliver detailed reports that communicate consumer insights clearly to stakeholders.
  • Use advanced data analysis techniques (e.g., segmentation analysis, regression analysis) to interpret consumer data.
  • Synthesize large sets of data from multiple sources to support business decisions and growth strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing, brand management, product development, and sales teams to translate consumer insights into effective strategies and campaigns.
  • Provide insights to inform new product development, brand development & communication, and pricing strategies based on consumer feedback and market trends.
  • Manage relationships with external research partners to ensure projects are on-budget and meet quality standards.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to understand consumer perceptions of key competitors and their product offerings.
  • Monitor market dynamics and identify opportunities or threats in the competitive landscape.
  • Manage one direct report (currently remote-based employee).

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in managing research for consumer products (home category experience is a plus).
  • Experience working with syndicated data providers (e.g., Circana, Euromonitor, Nielsen).
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret research results and form recommendations.
  • Employee management experience.
  • Strong command of MS Office suite, particularly Excel for data analysis/budget management and PowerPoint for sharing research results.
  • No certifications or licenses required.

The successful candidate will have proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-focused environment and be able to support multiple tasks with simultaneous priorities. He or she must be a dedicated, creative, results-driven self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
