Black Caucus of the American Library Association is seeking a Manager for Kid & Teen Central at Central Library in Indianapolis. The role oversees operations, staffing, and budget with a focus on programs for diverse youth audiences.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s in Library Science, Indiana Librarian Certification 2 (or eligible), and 3–5 years of relevant experience. This is a full-time, exempt position with varied day/evening/weekend hours for events.
Under limited direction, the Manager, Kid & Teen Central manages the operations of Kid & Teen Central at Central Library.The Manager develops Kid & Teen Central goals and outcomes that are in alignment with system directives. The Manager is responsible to plan, direct and oversee the operations and fiscal health of a business unit, department, or an operating unit within an organization. The Manager provides departmental leadership and direction in support of the organization’s goals through staffing, training, performance management and directing department workflow. The Manager is also responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable optimal performance of employees, volunteers and other resources within a business unit.
