Western & Southern, headquartered in Cincinnati, is seeking a Manager, Investment Operations to lead reconciliation and corporate actions, supervising a team and coordinating across internal systems and custodians.

You will drive process improvements, ensure accurate processing, and collaborate with multiple departments to support institutional business needs. This role emphasizes accuracy, efficiency and cross-functional teamwork within a Fortune 500 environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily/monthly reconciliation of transactions, positions, and cash across internal systems, Bloomberg, and custodian banks for ~350 accounts.
• Leads daily processing and validation of domestic/international corporate actions and ensures accurate application of events.
• Monitors workflows, identifies exceptions, and escalates issues as needed.
• Drives process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk through technology and automation.
• Maintains procedures and controls to support accurate reconciliation and corporate actions processing.
• Collaborates with custodians, portfolio management, trading, compliance, client service and tech teams to resolve issues.
• Participates in hiring for new associates and leads onboarding, training and coaching.
• Works with Director, Investment Operations on strategy, resource planning, and continuous improvement.
• Supports audits, regulatory examinations, and due diligence with operational documentation.
• Oversees special projects, system implementations, and initiatives to enhance scalability and service quality.

A Day in the Life of a Manager, Investment Operations

The Manager, Investment Operations is responsible for leading the reconciliation and corporate actions functions, including oversight of associates, prioritization of projects, and management of day-to-day operational activities. This role ensures the timely and accurate reconciliation of portfolios and transactions across internal systems and custodian banks, while overseeing the processing of domestic and international corporate actions. The Manager drives process improvements, strengthens operational controls, and partners across the organization to support investment operations for the Institutional business line.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily and monthly reconciliation of transactions, positions, and cash between internal systems, Bloomberg, and custodian banks across approximately 350 accounts held at 30 custodians.
• Leads the daily processing, validation, and communication of domestic and international corporate actions, ensuring timely and accurate application of mandatory and voluntary events.
• Monitors operational workflows, identifies exceptions, and ensures issues are researched, resolved, and escalated appropriately.
• Develops and implements process improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen operational controls, and reduce operational risk by maximizing the effective use of technology and automation.
• Establishes and maintains procedures and controls to support accurate reconciliation and corporate actions processing.
• Partners with custodians, portfolio management, trading, compliance, client service, and technology teams to resolve operational issues and support business initiatives.
• Participates in the hiring process for new associates and leads onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing development of team members.
• Partners with the Director, Investment Operations on departmental strategy, priorities, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supports internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and due diligence requests by providing operational documentation and subject matter expertise.
• Oversees special projects, system implementations, and operational initiatives that enhance scalability, efficiency, and service quality.
