UC San Diego Health is seeking an Interpreter Services Manager based in Hillcrest, with travel to La Jolla and East Campus as needed, to oversee daily operations and ensure language access for UC San Diego Health's LEP patient population.
Reporting to the Director of Experience Operations, you will supervise interpreters, coordinate training, and track program metrics while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards and a high level of professionalism.
This position is based in Hillcrest and requires going to La Jolla and/or East Campus as needed.
Reporting to the Director of Experience Operations, the Interpreter Services Manager oversees daily operations of the Department of Interpreter Services. This position is responsible for ensuring superior language access services are available for UC San Diego Health's Limited English Proficient (LEP) patient population. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws as well as adherence to the Joint Commission standards. This position is a critical part of the Office of Experience team, role modeling behavior and acting with a high level of professionalism.
Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training. Related experience as a medical interpreter.
Certification from a medical interpreter school or program such as Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) or National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI).
Experience and proven success in demonstrating solid subject matter knowledge of medical interpretation and translation services.
2 - 5 years of supervisory experience.
Experience working with EPIC.
Certification in Lean Six Sigma.
Experience in public speaking.
High degree of computer literacy and competence in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Familiarity with and working knowledge of clinical, professional, and ancillary departments in fast paced, hospital environment.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $71,600 - $127,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $34.29 - $61.02
