Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an Interpreter Services Manager based in Hillcrest, with travel to La Jolla and East Campus as needed, to oversee daily operations and ensure language access for UC San Diego Health's LEP patient population.

Reporting to the Director of Experience Operations, you will supervise interpreters, coordinate training, and track program metrics while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards and a high level of professionalism.

Qualifications

• Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
• Certification from a medical interpreter school or program such as CCHI or NBCMI.
• Experience and proven success in medical interpretation and translation services.

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision of medical interpreters and department coordinators.
• Reviews department process and creates and implements plans to address improvement opportunities.
• Tracks program metrics and provides regular program updates to leadership.
• Engages with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, building relationships with team members across the enterprise.
• Mentors, trains and coaches direct reports.
• Monitors quality of performance and service offered by contracted vendors.
• Performs medical interpretation and translation.
