The Care Team Interpreter facilitates effective communication between patients with limited English proficiency and healthcare staff to ensure equitable access to services. This role provides accurate verbal interpretation and written translation in Spanish and English, maintains strict confidentiality, and supports positive collaboration among patients, providers, and team members. The Interpreter helps ensure high-quality, culturally responsive care while adhering to regulatory requirements and organizational standards. This position also supports departmental operations and contributes to advancing the mission of Lawndale Christian Health Center.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Candidates must be fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) and possess strong communication, customer service, and listening skills. Experience working in diverse, multicultural environments is preferred, along with basic computer and telephone proficiency. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting while collaborating effectively with a variety of healthcare professionals.
