Job summary

Jobtailor in Minnesota is seeking an IAM Engineering Lead to guide one or both teams responsible for enterprise IAM platform design, integration, reliability, and lifecycle management. You will align IAM platforms with modern reliability and quality practices while mentoring engineers.

Job description

• Lead one or both IAM Engineering teams responsible for enterprise IAM platform design, engineering, integration, reliability, and lifecycle management
• Align IAM platforms with modern reliability, resiliency, and quality practices
• Develop and mentor IAM engineers across experience levels
• Establish priorities across project delivery, platform modernization, production support, technical debt, lifecycle management, and other commitments
• Drive engineering practices including automation, infrastructure as code, source control, testing, documentation, peer review, and repeatable deployments
• Improve platform resiliency, supportability, disaster recovery readiness, monitoring, and service health
• Reduce reliance on individual subject matter experts through cross-training, documentation, shared ownership, and support-depth development
• Partner with IAM Governance to translate identity, access, authentication, privileged access, and governance requirements into technical solutions
• Partner with IAM Operations to resolve complex service issues, improve escalations, automate work, and reduce manual operations
• Work with application and technology teams on IAM integrations, SailPoint ISC application onboarding, authentication, privileged access, and certificate management services
• Provide technical direction and coaching while empowering senior engineers and technical leads
• Simplify, modernize, or retire legacy approaches
• Manage upgrades, vendor roadmaps, vulnerabilities, end-of-support timelines, capacity needs, and technology risks
• Build relationships with infrastructure, application, architecture, cybersecurity, vendor, and business partners
• Foster ownership, collaboration, continuous learning, constructive technical challenge, and positive team culture

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated experience leading technology, cybersecurity, IAM, infrastructure, platform engineering, or similar technical efforts and/or teams in a large corporate environment, or strong readiness to step into a people leadership role
• Strong understanding of automation, source control, infrastructure as code, testing, cloud technologies, and reliable production support
• Experience with enterprise IAM or security technologies such as SailPoint, CyberArk, Ping, Venafi, or similar platforms
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services, preferably including AWS
• Ability to lead technical teams supporting SaaS platforms, cloud-hosted infrastructure, integrations, and enterprise applications
• Ability to balance engineering delivery, production support, technical debt, lifecycle management, and modernization work
• Ability to provide technical guidance without personally being the subject matter expert for every supported technology
• Experience developing technical staff and expanding engineers’ skills, ownership, and responsibilities
• Ability to identify technical or operational risk and drive sustainable solutions
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder partnership skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead teams through technical and organizational change
• Experience working in audit, governance, cybersecurity, or regulated control environments
