Job Description Summary

The Manager, Health, Safety and Environmental, ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and Local requirements, as well as company policies, strategies, initiatives, and goals. Oversees HSE programs and initiatives in Morris Plains across various topics including Biosafety, Industrial Hygiene, Environment, Construction Safety, and more.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop, manage, and continually improve Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance programs (e.g., Hazardous/Biohazardous Waste, Industrial Hygiene, Biological Safety, Lockout Tagout, Fall Protection).
  2. Advance environmental sustainability programs at the site, focusing on energy, water, and waste conservation, including capital project planning and departmental initiatives.
  3. Perform hazard characterizations and risk assessments for new chemical/biological materials and facility operations.
  4. Oversee chemical inventory management in collaboration with department representatives.
  5. Conduct site inspections, walkthroughs, and incident investigations.
  6. Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  7. Stay updated on new or revised regulations and support their implementation.
  8. Deliver HSE training for new hires and existing staff according to the curriculum.
  9. Serve as Subject Matter Expert during regulatory inspections and inquiries.
  10. Support Emergency Response Programs and Teams.
  11. Promote a high-performing HSE culture across all staff and departments.
  12. Collect and verify HSE data for global reporting.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Maintain site policies, regulations, and guidelines to meet statutory and company standards.
  • Manage HSE budgets and processes effectively.
  • Perform regular self-inspections and audits, and follow up on findings.
  • Develop and implement safety and environmental management policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in Health and Safety compliance programs.
  • Experience with Change Management, Crisis Management, Cross-functional Collaboration, Project and Operations Management.
Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary range is $114,100 to $211,900 per year, subject to adjustments based on market conditions, experience, and other factors. Benefits include medical, financial, and other perks such as 401(k), parental leave, paid time off, and more. Details will be provided upon offer.
