Qualifications

  • Considerable progressively responsible administrative medical information management experience required.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health record and health information management applications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and strategic leadership for Medical Information Management functions including EMPI, Chart Correction, Medical Identity Theft Resolution, Deficiency Tracking and Transcription Services Management.
  • Oversee staff, workflows, quality assurance programs, performance metrics, work queue management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for patient identity integrity, legal medical record governance, documentation compliance and EHR data integrity.
  • Collaborate with Medical Staff Leadership, Clinical Care Teams and other stakeholders to implement solutions that improve patient safety, documentation quality and regulatory compliance.

Job Title: Manager - Health Information

Department: Health System Shared Services | MIM Operations

The Data Integrity Manager provides operational and strategic leadership for Medical Information Management functions including the Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI), Chart Correction, Medical Identity Theft Resolution, Deficiency Tracking, Medical Record Completion, and Transcription Services Management. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, quality, accessibility, and legal reliability of the electronic health record (EHR) while supporting patient safety, regulatory compliance, documentation excellence, and operational efficiency.

The Data Integrity Manager oversees staff, workflows, quality assurance programs, operational performance, productivity metrics, work queue management, and process improvement initiatives.

The position serves as a subject matter expert for patient identity integrity, legal medical record governance, documentation compliance, medical record completion, transcription workflows, and EHR data integrity.

The manager collaborates extensively with Medical Staff Leadership, Clinical Care Teams, Operational Leaders, Compliance, Accreditation, Privacy, Revenue Cycle, Coding, Patient Accounting/Financial Services, Patient Access, Information Technology, Risk Management, Legal, OSU Physicians, Community Connect Affiliates, and other stakeholders throughout the health system to develop and implement solutions that improve patient safety, documentation quality, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and data integrity.

Minimum Qualifications For Hire: Bachelor's degree in health information administration or equivalent degree required. 5 years of relevant experience required. Master's degree in business administration, Computer and Information Science or Public Administration preferred. Considerable progressively responsible administrative medical information management experience required. Knowledge and experience with electronic health record and health information management applications preferred.
