Job summary

Ohio State University Health System Shared Services seeks a Health Systems Informatics Technician 2 to deliver telephone-based technical and application support for the EMR system, addressing both technical and end-user workflow issues. The role serves a diverse customer base including hospital staff, patients using portals, and Community Connect affiliate hospitals.

The position collaborates with IT infrastructure, technical support, and application teams to troubleshoot Tier 1 and Tier 2

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related work experience in customer support, healthcare, IT, or clinical applications support.
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems and clinical workflows is a plus.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills for support callers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone-based technical and application support for the EMR system (Tier 1/2).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across clinical applications and end-user workflows.
  • Coordinate with IT infrastructure and application teams; document incidents and resolutions.
  • Support system maintenance and operational activities to ensure reliable clinical applications.

Job Description

The Clinical Applications Technician provides telephone-based technical and application support for the electronic medical record (EMR) system, addressing both technical and end-user workflow issues. This role supports a diverse customer base, including medical center staff, patients utilizing application portals, and Community Connect affiliate hospitals.

The position collaborates closely with IT infrastructure, technical support, and application teams to troubleshoot and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 support issues. Additional responsibilities include system maintenance, operational support activities, issue documentation, and other duties as assigned to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of clinical applications.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of relevant work experience in a customer support, healthcare, information technology, or clinical applications support environment.
