Responsibilities

  • Lead annual global compensation cycles including base pay, incentives, and equity.
  • Develop scalable salary structures and perform market benchmarking.
  • Maintain global job architecture and governance for consistency across regions.
  • Administer equity programs (RSUs, PSUs, stock options, ESPP) and ensure compliance.

Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island, Georgia, as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. The Manager of Global Compensation leads the implementation, administration, and governance of compensation and equity programs across multiple geographies. This role ensures alignment with business strategy, market competitiveness, and compliance with local regulations globally. The Manager serves as a strategic advisor and business partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver compensation and equity programs, data-driven insights and sound recommendations, while ensuring team members support program outcomes and deliver initiatives on time with accuracy. This position reports to the Vice President of Global Total Rewards and is based full time at our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Responsibilities
Global Compensation Programs

Leads the annual compensation cycles, including merit, bonus, and equity programs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. Administers and enhances global compensation programs, including base pay, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives. Partners with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders on compensation recommendations, offers, retention actions, and other non-standard compensation matters. Identifies and resolves complex compensation issues while ensuring consistent application of compensation policies and practices. Supports the evolution of compensation programs to align with business objectives and Total Rewards strategy.

Market Analysis & Compensation

Conducts market pricing, benchmarking, and competitive analyses using salary surveys and market data. Develops and maintains scalable salary structures across regions. Analyzes internal pay equity and external competitiveness and provides actionable recommendations. Evaluates market trends and recommend updates to compensation programs and structures.

Job Architecture & Governance

Maintains global job architecture, including job catalog integrity, job evaluations, leveling, titling, and survey matching. Ensures consistent application of job classification and compensation practices across regions. Supports compliance with global compensation regulations and pay transparency requirements.

Global Equity Programs

Administers global equity programs, including RSUs, PSUs, stock options, and ESPP. Leads recurring equity processes, including participant eligibility, award calculations, approvals, grant administration, and employee communications. Partners with Legal, Payroll, Tax, and external providers to ensure compliance with securities, tax, employment, and data privacy regulations. Manages relationships with equity administration vendors and brokerage partners.

Analytics & Reporting

Develops dashboards, analyses, and reporting to monitor compensation trends, program effectiveness, and market competitiveness. Generates insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Presents findings and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders, as needed.

Stakeholder Partnership & Leadership

Supports VP, Global Total Rewards on development of executive compensation disclosures and proxy/CD&A preparation, as needed. Serves as a trusted advisor to HR, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Legal and business leaders on compensation programs and matters. Provides training, guidance, and consultation on compensation programs and practices. Leads, coaches, and develops team members, fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field; or equivalent experience and/or proficiency 8+ years of professional experience in compensation in global or matrixed organizations Highly proficient in broad-based compensation programs, variable pay programs, and equity programs Strong analytical skills, financial modeling, and data visualization skills Experience with top-tier global compensation surveys; participation and interpretation of results Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong knowledge of Federal/State pay and labor regs and Country statutory requirements Experience with HRIS (e.g., Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft etc.) and data analysis tools/ platforms Excellent problem-solving, communication, training, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Working knowledge of SOX controls and audit processes Demonstrated people leadership, coaching, and supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

CCP, GRP, CECP, or similar professional certifications Experience in multi-national organizations M&A and integration experience Project management skills Policy development skills Compensation experience in NA, EMEA, APAC Prior experience with leading global job architecture projects and salary structure development.
