Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Backus Hospital Gift Shop & Boutique seeks an experienced manager to oversee operations, purchasing, displays, sales, inventory control, training, and supervising volunteers.

You will create and analyze periodic sales reports, handle daily receipts, maintain accurate financial records, and promote positive customer relations by applying HHC leadership principles, contributing to the hospital's community presence in eastern Connecticut.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in buying, merchandise and retail sales; eight years of experience preferred.
• Active participant in vendor buying programs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate the Backus Hospital Gift Shop & Boutique.
• Order, display, and sell merchandise; manage inventory.
• Train and supervise volunteers; prepare sales reports and maintain records.
• Handle daily receipts and ensure accurate financial records.

Job Summary

Manages and operates the Backus Hospital Gift Shop & Boutique.Orders, displays, sells merchandise, inventory control, training, and supervising volunteers, creating and analyzing periodic sales reports, handling daily receipts, and maintaining accurate financial records.Promote positive customer relations utilizing the HHC H3W Leadership behaviors.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years in buying, merchandise and retail sales; ability to predict and monitor trends. Eight (8) years of experience preferred.
• Active participant in vendor buying programs

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements

• Working knowledge of office business equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians and managers.
• Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions.
• Must be organized, flexible and a team player.
