Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced compensation professional to lead the fleet compensation team for Holland America Line and Seabourn. You will design, plan, and implement compensation programs, policies, and procedures for shipboard employees, aligning with organizational strategies and objectives. Responsibilities include reviewing ranks, designing salary structures, incentive plans, conducting benchmark studies, overseeing FOI and equity plans, and supporting legal compliance and union negotiations.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement compensation plans, programs, and policies for fleet operations that are competitive, equitable, and aligned with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with operations to understand business needs and develop incentive plans that reward performance.
  • Establish pay ranges and structures based on market research and business performance.
  • Coordinate with the ABG compensation team on equity grants and projects.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation structures for two cruise lines.
  • Ensure data accuracy and approve audits.
  • Improve compensation-related processes and systems.
  • Prepare communication and training materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Draft and review policy documents with leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain job classifications.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and harassment-free work environment.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating integrity and professionalism, and support team development.
  • Maintain flexibility and openness to feedback to meet business needs.
Requirements
  • Degree in Finance, HR Management, Business Administration; Master’s preferred.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
  • 5+ years in compensation roles with increasing responsibility.
  • 2+ years in leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in hospitality, entertainment, or leisure travel industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation administration, data analysis, and project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Global compensation knowledge is advantageous.
  • Experience with HR information systems preferred.
