Job description

This is a regional position. Preference will go to applicants living in or near New Jersey, Philadelphia, PA, or Long Island, NY.

The Manager of Fleet Client Services will lead and provide direction to the scheduling team to optimize work volumes and staffing levels, ensuring operational efficiency and excellent customer service. The manager maintains positive relationships with all site/market customers and internal business leaders.

What You'll Do

The Manager of Fleet Client Services is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of Fleet Maintenance clients in a high‑volume market, potentially encompassing multiple small to medium markets within an assigned geographic territory. The role focuses on client retention and expansion, driving a continuous revenue stream that results in high technician efficiency and client satisfaction. The manager acts as a first‑level escalation point for complex customer issues and oversees a robust performance‑management process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and overseeing the overall operation of the department.
  • Meeting and exceeding revenue and customer churn goals for the assigned market(s).
  • Building and maintaining client relationships and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
  • Evaluating growth opportunities based on client needs and market trends and making recommendations to leadership.
  • Collaborating with national and regional sales teams to maximize client value.
  • Setting annual sales targets and monitoring customer churn metrics.
  • Partnering with Field Operations to communicate changes that affect client accounts.
  • Leading the scheduling team that coordinates services to meet client needs.
  • Strategically aligning Cox Automotive’s products and services with client business models.
  • Serving as the key point of contact for internal and external clients, addressing escalations and inquiries.
  • Monitoring client, market, and competitor activity to provide timely feedback.
  • Identifying and working with ‘at‑risk’ clients to develop action plans.
  • Responding promptly to system alerts and emergencies.
  • Attending customer meetings as a Cox management representative.
  • Maintaining transparent communication through meetings, emails, chats, and other channels.
  • Collaborating with other departments and leadership to ensure high‑quality customer service.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to safety and supporting safety leadership.
  • Performing any other duties assigned.

Who you are
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6+ years of experience in account management and client engagement. Alternative combinations may include a master’s degree with 4 years of experience, a Ph.D. with up to 1 year, or 10 years of experience in a related field.
  • At least 1 year in a management or leadership role.
  • Travel required: up to 40%.
  • Valid driver’s license; safe driver required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in a related field strongly desired (sales, marketing, finance, business, etc.).
  • Experience in the fleet or automobile industry preferred.
  • Proven track record of building relationships, consulting, and selling value‑added service solutions.
  • Adaptable, results‑oriented, and proven ability to exceed sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to foster productive internal and external business relationships.
  • Demonstrated influence, executive presence, strategic thinking, and effective problem‑solving skills.
Compensation

USD 88,800.00 – 133,200.00 per year. The base salary may vary within this range based on location and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The position may also be eligible for additional compensation, including an incentive program.
