Job summary

United Site Services, Inc is seeking a Field Ops Supervisor to oversee yard and transportation operations, lead a team of drivers and technicians, and ensure efficient routing and service delivery.

This role requires coordinating routes with the Operations Coordinator, reviewing manifests and DVIRs, managing staffing, and ensuring DOT compliance, safety training, and timely payroll inputs. Strong communication and problem solving are essential to maintain high quality customer care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year/Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a related field and/or training.
• Minimum of 2 years proven leadership experience leading a diverse team to accomplish results.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all activities for the yard. Supervises all Technicians.
• Work with the Operations Coordinator & Routers to coordinate routes, pick-ups, and deliveries to ensure routing efficiencies.
• Analyze and report on operational activities: routing efficiency, weekly pick-ups vs deliveries, labor & overtime, fuel, quality of customer care, etc.
• Work with other departments to ensure excellent communication within the division and to resolve customer service issues.
• Coordinate asset transfers with Operations Supervisors at other yards when necessary.
• Maintain proper staffing levels to meet and exceed customer and branch needs.
• Review all driver paperwork: manifests, P&D tickets, route sheets, DVIRs, etc., for accuracy
• Review and approve Time Saver punches; approve time off requests and schedule time off based on need
• DOT administration: log books and record maintenance (DQFs)
• Safety program administration for drivers; coordinate safety training with Safety & HR
• Employee development & conducting periodic performance reviews
• Operate a variety of company vehicles
• Perform other duties as assigned

Primary Purpose

The Field Ops Supervisor is knowledgeable of yard and transportation operations and enjoys leading a team. This position is responsible for supervising operation functions and drivers.

Essential Functions

• Manage and coordinate all activities for the yard. Supervises all Technicians
• Work with the Operations Coordinator & Routers to coordinate routes, pick-ups, and deliveries to ensure the best routing efficiencies
• Analyze and report on operational activities, i.e., routing efficiency, weekly pick-ups versus deliveries, labor & overtime, fuel, quality of customer care, etc
• Work directly with other departments to ensure excellent communication within the division. Work with various departments to resolve customer service & other issues
• Work with Operations Supervisors at other yards to coordinate asset transfers, when necessary
• Maintain proper staffing levels to meet and exceed customer and branch needs
• Assist Operations Manager with coordinating logistics (delivery & pick-up, service of assets) for special events and works special events
• Review all paperwork from drivers including manifests, P&D tickets, route sheets, DVIRs, etc. for completion and accuracy
• Review and approve Time Saver punches prior to submitting for payroll processing. Review and approve time off request forms and schedule time off based on operational necessity
• Responsible for fleet DOT administration including, log books & record maintenance (DQFs), etc
• Responsible for the administration of the Company's safety program for the driver function. Works with Safety & HR to coordinate safety training, where necessary
• Responsible for employee development & conducting periodic performance reviews
• Operate a variety of company vehicles
• Perform other duties as assigned
