Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead maintenance across HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and critical power systems in a facility-driven environment. You will drive energy efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance while directing multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating with vendors and building operations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3–5 years of facilities/construction management experience, with EPA 608 certification within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: Supervising Associates or cross-functional project experience.

• Evaluate facility and equipment to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy use.
• Develop SOPs and preventive maintenance programs for facilities.
• Oversee sustainability and EPA compliance programs.
• Manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and supervise teams; assess vendor work and provide training.

Job description

• Direct heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and critical power maintenance and service operations
• Evaluate facility, equipment, airflow, humidity, temperature, and load requirements to improve efficiency and reduce energy use
• Develop standard operating procedures and facility maintenance inspection and preventive maintenance programs
• Oversee sustainability initiatives and Environmental Protection Agency compliance programs
• Resolve scope-of-work issues with vendors, service providers, and contractors and provide technical training
• Manage complex projects, prioritize assignments, plan workforce needs, supervise work, inspect completed assignments, and create punch lists
• Direct regional field operations, set goals, control maintenance costs, track preventive maintenance completion, and monitor contractor performance
• Develop and approve capital, staffing, and compensation budgets within authorization limits
• Evaluate return on investment, collect scopes of work and sign-off sheets, approve contracts and invoices, and determine resource requirements
• Review cost estimates and approve purchases of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies
• Maintain project oversight, timelines, schedules, costs, materials, equipment, labor estimates, and facility improvement recommendations
• Manage department budgets, analyze spending trends, review invoices, approve expenditures, manage warranty reimbursement, and ensure landlord compliance with lease agreements
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R industry laws, regulations, and guidelines
• Drive multiple business plans and projects by identifying needs, setting priorities and performance standards, measuring progress, and removing barriers
• Supervise and develop associates through selection, training, mentoring, assignment of duties, performance evaluations, recognition, and coaching
• Promote company policies, mission, values, ethics, integrity, Open Door Policy, continuous learning, and community outreach
• Build inclusive, high-performing teams and strong relationships with business partners
• Apply data analytics, customer/member insights, continuous improvement, digital tools, and an omnimerchant mindset to business planning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field and 3 years’ experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or related area
• EPA 608 Certification within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: General Maintenance
• Preferred: Supervising Associates
• Preferred: Working on cross-functional teams or projects
