Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior engineering leader to provide technical and operational support to property engineering teams across regions. You will develop policies, oversee inspections, drive performance of mechanical and electrical systems in a commercial portfolio.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership and technical/operational support to Engineering teams across all regions
  • Develop policies and procedures for all types of buildings managed by C&W
  • Collaborate with market leadership to drive performance of mechanical and engineering staff and systems
  • Maintain continuity, consistent product delivery, and quality control across properties
  • Develop and oversee property inspection and survey platforms, including policy compliance, energy audits, HVAC, energy management, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Support environmental compliance, ADA compliance, acquisitions, third-party surveys, and Property Condition Assessments
  • Advise on technical operations including air and hydraulic balancing, boiler, chiller and cooling tower maintenance, mechanical and electrical systems, tenant work orders, preventative maintenance, and equipment overhauls or replacements
  • Develop and maintain engineering and operations procedures covering preventative maintenance, energy management, water treatment, fire life safety, environmental health and safety, asset and team development, hazardous materials communication, indoor air quality, and operating cost estimates
  • Drive compliance with life safety, domestic water quality, water treatment, EPA, and OSHA programs
  • Evaluate engineering employee qualifications, develop an engineering leadership network, consult on manpower studies, establish career development tracks, and ensure direct-report performance evaluations
  • Deliver and coordinate operational and mechanical seminars
  • Ensure construction management, project management, and commissioning best practices across the national portfolio
  • Assist clients with due diligence and building evaluations; participate in Integrated Design Teams for new development projects
  • Evaluate and recommend building automation, energy management, performance, and automatic temperature control systems
  • Provide value-engineering recommendations and evaluate contractor qualifications
  • Give performance feedback and develop engineers for advancement; identify engineers ready for new challenges
  • Maintain the national safety manual and partner with the EH&S group
  • Liaise with procurement to identify national vendors, pricing, and local contract approvals; maintain key vendor relationships
  • Travel between properties and buildings as needed

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 10+ years engineering experience with significant supervisory responsibility in a commercial property setting
  • Vocational/Technical training certificate
  • Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required, such as Journeyman or Master Electrician License or City Licenses
  • Universal Technician for CFC’s depending on market licensure requirements or any similar combination of education or experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable practices/techniques, laws, project controls, and environmental regulations, including OSHA safety regulations
  • One or more of the following required: Local Operating Engineer’s License or Trade License, Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA), Real Property Administrator (RPA)
  • Familiarity with Energy Management System (EMS) programming and fire alarm systems
  • Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to travel between properties and buildings, including outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to travel from floor to floor and climb stairs
  • Ability to remain stationary, sit or stand, for 85% of the time
  • Regular use of hands to operate office machinery; ability to walk, talk, and hear
