Job summary

Northwell is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the facilities management team, plan maintenance, and oversee contracts and service agreements to meet health system standards.

The role requires coordinating multiple teams, managing budgets, and ensuring regulatory compliance, with a focus on optimizing operations and delivering reliable facility services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership/management experience.
• Prior leadership experience, familiar with union environment, highly preferred.
• Healthcare related experience regarding planning of jobs with who it impacts, preferred.
• Oversight experience with leading projects and coordinating different teams to complete a job, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to Facilities Management team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
• Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
• Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports; oversees the selection, development, management, and evaluation of indirect reports.
• Manages the maintenance and repair schedules for equipment and facilities.
• Ensures contracts and service agreements meet facility standards and needs.
• Builds, and maintains productive inter/intra departmental and vendor work relationships to optimize operations.
• Recommends, implements, and adheres to approved operating goals, objectives, and budget.
• Reports operation performance, justification, and corrective action.
• Ensures compliance with the federal, state and local regulatory bodies are in force.
