Your Purpose:

As a Manager, Vehicle Facilities Maintenance you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations and long-term development of Brightline’s repair facilities in West Palm Beach and Orlando. This includes overseeing facility conditions, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing safety standards, coordinating defect resolution, and supporting incident response. The role also involves leading a facilities team, maintaining environmental standards, analyzing operational data, and collaborating across departments to ensure efficient and safe rail maintenance operations.

In this role, you will oversee several teammates who are based across two facilities on our corridor.

Your Role [Essential Functions]:

  • Daily Operations Oversight: Support the efficient management of day-to-day operations across Brightline’s repair facilities in West Palm Beach and Orlando, FL, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
  • Facility Condition Monitoring: Continuously assess and maintain the operational integrity of both maintenance locations, ensuring they meet Brightline’s standards for safety, efficiency, and cleanliness.
  • Expansion Project Support: Assist in overseeing the Orlando maintenance facility expansion to accommodate the growing fleet, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Serve as a liaison with state and federal regulatory agencies, ensuring all mechanical operations comply with applicable laws and industry standards.
  • Safety & SOP Enforcement: Monitor adherence to standard operating procedures and enforce safety regulations to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Defect Management: Document reported defects, coordinate with contractors for resolution, and conduct final inspections to verify all issues are addressed before returning equipment to revenue service.
  • Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to identify repair needs, renovation opportunities, and ensure ongoing compliance with operational standards.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively address facility-related concerns, identify trends, and implement appropriate responses to maintain operational continuity.
  • Incident Response: Support the department’s incident management efforts, ensuring efficient and timely responses to operational disruptions.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze operational data and generate reports to inform decision-making and improve facility performance.
  • Cross-Departmental Coordination: Facilitate effective communication between operations, maintenance, and support teams to ensure seamless and safe rail maintenance services.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, recruit, and train the facilities management team to meet departmental goals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Uphold environmental and sustainability standards across all departmental activities and infrastructure.
  • Staff Supervision: Manage assigned personnel, including task delegation, timekeeping, performance evaluations, and corrective actions. Ensure work quality, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Team Culture: Promote a positive, inclusive, and values-driven work environment that reflects Brightline’s mission and culture.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Actively contribute to the management team, aligning departmental initiatives with broader organizational objectives.
  • Communication: Monitor and review all Brightline communication channels, including our company intranet, bConnected, during work hours to ensure all company and department communications and notifications are promptly reviewed.

Experience & Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

· Associate’s degree in construction management, facility management, engineering, business administration or related field

· 5+ years of professional experience in facility management, or similar maintenance operations, preferably in railroad, manufacturing, or similar environments.

· Demonstrated expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and overall building construction, underscoring a robust technical background."

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

· Demonstrated leadership through effective team management, fostering collaboration and accountability.

· Proficient in construction and maintenance fields, including landscaping, facility operations, civil repairs, painting, basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.

· Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.

· Skilled communicator with the ability to build rapport across all levels of the organization, supporting operational alignment and success.

· In-depth understanding of facility operations, maintenance procedures, and infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal use of safety protocols, recruitment strategies, training programs, and resources.

· Well-versed in federal regulations and standards related to rail operations.

· Willing and able to work any shift, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and other related programs.

· Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

· Well-versed in safety protocols and regulations related to maintenance operations. Wear personal protective equipment when required and necessary

· Good physical condition to handle the demands of the job, which may include working in various weather conditions and performing manual tasks. Capable of operating heavy.

Work Environment:
Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the plant. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. This position is very active and the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl all day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. No specific vision requirements.

Objects weighing 70 pounds or more must be accompanied by a second individual to avoid injury.
