Job summary

Cintrifuse is seeking an experienced EH&S leader to advance safety and facilities excellence across multiple sites. You will develop policy, lead investigations, and drive risk-management initiatives in a fast-paced, regulated environment including cleanrooms and manufacturing spaces.

You will oversee training, budget, and vendor relationships while coordinating with Operations, Engineering, and HR to ensure safe, compliant operations. On-site presence is required with periodic shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in safety/related field.
• 7+ years progressive EH&S experience with facilities operations and safety program management.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry, EPA, and state workers' comp regulations.
• Experience developing safety programs across multiple facilities and sites.
• Experience with risk assessment, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience delivering safety training for employees and contractors.
• Experience with cleanroom, chemical handling, and ergonomics in medical device manufacturing.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and staff development across safety topics.
• Experience managing EH&S budgets and coordinating with outside vendors/contractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies across all facilities per OSHA/EPA/local regs.
• Lead incident investigations, CAPA, and root cause analyses for safety events.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all areas.
• Own Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, PPE, and EAP programs.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to ensure safe equipment design and changes.
• Assist in day-to-day facilities operations including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Supervise facilities/maintenance staff; manage hiring, scheduling, and performance.
• Lead Safety and Emergency Response Teams and coordinate cross-functional drills.
• Plan and manage EH&S capital projects with Facilities, Operations, and Finance.
• Develop and manage the EH&S budget; track spend vs plan.
• Manage vendor/contract relationships for safety & facilities services.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs for facility infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and life-safety regulations.
• Serve as primary contact for EH&S emergencies and after-hours response.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 7+ years of progressive environmental, health, and safety experience, including EH&S and Facilities operations and safety program management, preferably within medical device, pharmaceutical, or another regulated manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry (29 CFR 1910), EPA, and state workers' compensation regulations
• Demonstrated experience developing and leading safety programs across multiple facilities or sites, including facilities or building operations experience
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis
• Experience developing, conducting and maintaining safety related training for internal employees and external contractors.
• Experience with cleanroom, chemical-handling, and ergonomics programs typical of medical device manufacturing
• Prior experience managing, coaching, and developing technical and non-technical staff and external contractors in safety-related subjects
• Experience managing EH&S operating and/or capital budgets and overseeing outside vendors/contractor safety practice

Preferred:

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), or Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM)
• Experience in a small-to-mid-size or growing medical device, life sciences company
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 management systems
• Experience with industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomics assessments
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification, Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP)
• Experience managing Facilities and EH&S related capital projects (company-wide or department specific safety initiatives)
• Experience with asset management and/or ERP software (SAP)

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
• Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as printer, telephone, etc.
• Ability to move inside and outside of the facility to all locations, including the cleanrooms.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including cleanroom garb, safety glasses, and hearing protection, as needed
• Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of materials up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to access mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure spaces (e.g., mechanical rooms, roofs, utility areas) as needed to oversee facilities operations and maintenance
• Position requires regular, on-site presence during normal business hours, with some 2nd and 3rd shift and weekend support as required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, programs, and procedures across all company facilities in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes for safety events and near-misses
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across manufacturing, cleanroom, warehouse, and office areas
• Own and maintain Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, PPE, and Emergency Action Plan programs
• Partner with Operations and Engineering leadership to ensure safe equipment design, installation, and process changes
• Assist in day-to-day facilities operations and maintenance across company sites, including building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs
• Directly supervise facilities/maintenance staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance management, and professional development
• Lead and maintain internal cross-functional Safety and Emergency Response Teams
• Plan and manage Facilities and EH&S related capital and improvement projects — scope, budget, schedule, and contractor coordination — in partnership with Facilities, Operations and Finance
• Develop and manage the Facilities and EH&S budget; track spend against plan
• Manage relationships and contracts with outside facilities vendors and contractors (specialty waste disposal, Safety and Facilities related equipment maintenance)
• Assist in maintaining preventive maintenance programs for facility infrastructure and equipment

• Serve as primary point of contact for EH&S and Facilities-related emergencies and coordinate timely resolution, including after-hours response as needed
• Coordinate workers' compensation cases and return-to-work programs in partnership with Human Resources
• Develop, deliver, and own EH&S training for new hire onboarding and ongoing employee education
• Track, analyze, and report EH&S metrics (TRIR, near-misses, corrective actions) to site and executive leadership
• Lead or support ergonomics assessments and industrial hygiene monitoring (noise, air quality, chemical exposure)
• Maintain OSHA recordkeeping (Forms 300, 300A, 301) and ensure timely regulatory reporting
• Serve as primary point of contact for EH&S regulatory agency inspections and audits
• Support environmental compliance programs, including waste management, air permits, and stormwater management
• Champion a proactive safety culture through employee safety committees and recognition programs
