Job summary

DePuy Synthes is seeking an experienced Enterprise SAP Architect to lead the multi‑instance SAP landscape during a major separation from Johnson & Johnson. You will own ECC/S/4HANA architecture, guide Day 1 separation, and drive TSA transition with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities include designing scalable ERP architecture, ensuring security and compliance, coordinating with vendors, and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in enterprise/ERP architecture with leadership
Hands-on with SAP ABAP, SAP Security, SAP BASIS, or SAP BTP and IS Integration
Experience across SAP ECC and S/4HANA in RICEFW
Strong SAP GRC Access Control expertise (ARA/ARM/BRM/EAM)
Experience delivering SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and BTP across hybrid clouds
Experience leading integration development across SAP and enterprise platforms
Experience guiding teams and system integrator partners; governance and mentoring
Production support, incident management, and 24x7 global SAP operations
Exposure to regulated healthcare or medical technology sectors preferred

Job description

Plan, design, build, and govern the multi-instance SAP application landscape, including ECC and S/4, as DePuy Synthes separates from Johnson & Johnson
Manage multiple SAP ECC and S/4 instances supporting Day 1 separation
Lead through the TSA transition period

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
Master's degree or MBA preferred
8+ years of experience in enterprise/ERP architecture, including prior experience leading projects or mentoring team members
Hands-on and leadership experience with SAP ABAP, SAP Security, SAP BASIS, or SAP BTP and IS Integration
Strong SAP ABAP development experience across SAP ECC and S/4HANA in RICEFW
Strong SAP GRC Access Control expertise, including ARA, ARM, BRM, and EAM/Firefighter
Strong experience planning, delivering, and administering SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and SAP BTP across hybrid cloud landscapes
Experience leading integration development and architecture across SAP and enterprise platforms
Experience leading teams and system integrator partners; technical governance, code reviews, estimation, design authority, and mentoring
Strong production support, critical incident management, performance tuning, root-cause analysis, and release management experience across 24×7 global SAP environments
Excellent collaboration with SAP functional leads, enterprise architects, business stakeholders, QA/Validation, Infrastructure, and global IT leadership
Experience with global S/4 implementations or transformations preferred
Experience with SAP BTP, Integration Suite, Fiori/UI5, and REST/OData services highly desirable
Experience with S/4HANA, Fiori, SAP BTP, and Joule/Generative AI enablement preferred
Knowledge of API Management, REST/OData/SOAP, IDoc, RFC/BAPI, and event-driven integration preferred
Experience managing SAP security integration and enterprise IAM/SSO platforms preferred
Understanding of GxP, CSV/CSA, audit trails, electronic records, change control, and validated SAP environments preferred
Experience in regulated healthcare or medical technology industries preferred
Exposure to enterprise security, compliance, and governance frameworks preferred
Experience managing vendors or delivery partners preferred
Experience in separation, spin-off, carve-out, or M&A technology environments preferred
English required
Up to 20% travel, primarily domestic with occasional international travel
ERP platform certifications, TOGAF, or cloud certifications preferred

Core Competencies

Demonstrates extensive experience in SAP ERP architecture, including hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP, SAP Security, and SAP BASIS. Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex integrations, and ensure compliance with security and performance standards in regulated environments.
