You will mentor engineers, shape organizational practices, and oversee Agile delivery, balancing innovation with dependable operations across the Compute division.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development with leadership experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in Cloud Native Platform Engineering and driving alignment.
• Experience building and operating highly available production services with Kubernetes and cloud-native tech.
• Strong foundation in containerization, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience hiring, developing and retaining engineering talent.
• Expertise using CI/CD tools to enforce good software practices.

With your expertise in Kubernetes and Cloud-Native technologies, you will help design, build, and scale the Kubernetes Product Platform. This opinionated internal Kubernetes platform meets Akamai's change safety, security, and compliance expectations while giving developers the experience they want. This platform will help bring new products and services to market faster by simplifying performance, reliability, security, and operational needs.

As a Manager Engineering, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and growing a team of high-performing engineers building the cloud-native platform on Kubernetes.
• Partnering with product management and leadership to shape the strategic roadmap and execute on key platform milestones.

• Have 8 years of experience in software development along with experience in engineering leadership or management role
• Demonstrate leadership in Cloud Native Platform Engineering, driving organizational alignment and operational efficiency
• Have track record of managing teams that build and operate highly available production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies
• Have technical foundation in containerization, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure
• Have experience hiring, developing, and retaining top engineering talent
• Possess expertise leveraging CI/CD tools to achieve good software development practices

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $151,800 - $273,200/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
