Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer Lead to design, build, and scale our Kubernetes-based cloud-native platform.

You will lead the development across teams, work with management and business stakeholders, and help shape the engineering roadmap to enable faster, safer product delivery. You will mentor engineers, foster agile collaboration, and drive enterprise features for a highly available, fault-tolerant platform.

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Leadership experience in Cloud Native Platform Engineering, driving toward an enabled ecosystem of capabilities within our organization.
• Experience building and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Expert knowledge of the Go programming language and scripting with Python or Bash.
• Expertise in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and Linux-based operating systems.
• Expertise leveraging CI/CD tools to achieve good software development practices.

As a Principal Software Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for:

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $169,300 - $304,700/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
