Job summary

Akamai's Connected Cloud (ACC) Compute team in Cambridge, MA, is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test II. You will help build and test cloud-native platforms, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalable production services using Kubernetes and Pytest.

You will contribute to test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional engineers in an Agile environment to improve quality and accelerate product delivery across Akamai's next-generation cloud platform.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience building test automation solutions using Pytest/Python.
• Experience operating or testing scalable production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Working knowledge of Linux, networking fundamentals, and security principles.
• Experience with CI/CD tools.

This role will leverage your Kubernetes and Cloud Native technologies expertise. You will help build the next-generation platform for new products and services. The Golden Path cloud-native platform will be used to bring new products and services to market faster. This involves simplifying their performance, reliability, security, and operational needs.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will be responsible for:

• Contributing to developing tests, supporting frameworks, and continuous delivery execution pipelines.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Demonstrate experience building test automation solutions using Pytest/Python.
• Possess experience operating or testing scalable production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of Linux operating systems, networking fundamentals, and security principles.
• Have experience leveraging CI/CD tools to achieve good software development practices.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $95,000 - $171,000/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
