Job summary

Memorial Health in Illinois is seeking an experienced RN to manage daily Endoscopy department operations in partnership with the Director, including staffing, scheduling, quality and patient care delivery.

The role supervises department staff, assumes the director's duties in their absence, and leads quality improvement, regulatory readiness, and cost-control initiatives while promoting staff development and safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Illinois RN license.
• BSN or related healthcare degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of RN experience; three years of Endoscopy experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Endoscopy department operations with staffing and scheduling oversight.
• Support budget planning and monitor payroll accuracy and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards and Joint Commission readiness.

Job Description Summary

Manages the daily operations of the Endoscopy department in partnership with the Director, including staffing, scheduling, quality and patient care delivery. Supervises department staff and assumes responsibility for the department in the Director’s absence.

Essential Functions and Job Duties

• Assures appropriate staffing, equipment and supplies for daily endoscopy schedule.
• Assures accuracy of payroll.
• Assists Director with budget regarding staff hours and capital expenditure items.
• Assists in resolving employee concerns and patient complaints.
• Resolves day-to-day issues that include physician, staff and procedural issues.
• Assumes leadership role in absence of director; takes responsibility for own self-growth.
• Plans and leads staff meetings; attends monthly and special meetings as required.
• Develops and achieves annual department goals in partnership with the Director.
• Assists in hiring, scheduling, directing and evaluating personnel to ensure adequate delivery of services.
• Responsible for assignment of vacation and holiday schedules.
• Works with HR regarding all FMLA and personnel issues.
• Monitors overtime.
• Demonstrates clinical competency by providing direct patient care in a designated clinical area on a routine basis.
• Assists in management of the environment, identifying hazards and addressing those to the correct departments.
• Coordinates and completes annual performance evaluations for department staff.
• Monitors for cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensures staff competency, orientation and annual education requirements are met, including scope reprocessing and infection prevention standards.
• Reviews and revises departmental policies and procedures annually; participates in quality improvement and regulatory readiness activities (e.g., The Joint Commission).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Other Requirements

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois required.
• BSN or BS in related healthcare field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of RN experience required; three years of Endoscopy experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Pay Transparency

$43.71 - $67.76

Additional compensation in the form(s) of participation in our annual incentive program are dependent on role. Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role.
