Job summary

Lightsource bp is seeking a Manager, Electrical Engineering to lead LV/MV design for utility-scale solar, storage and wind projects across the US. You will drive electrical standards, studies and interconnection workstreams, collaborating with multiple teams and EPC partners.

The role requires a senior electrical engineer with 10+ years in power systems, HV knowledge, and strong project leadership. Hybrid work with in-office Tue–Thu and remote Mon/Fri is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering (power) from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in the power sector.
• Experience designing LV and MV electrical systems for utility-scale renewables.
• Experience with Engineer of Record / Owner’s Engineer / EPC contractor.
• Experience reviewing detailed designs and issued-for-construction deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of HV systems 69 kV–500 kV.

Responsibilities

• Lead LV/MV electrical system design for renewable facilities.
• Perform power-system studies: load flow, voltage, short-circuit, protection.
• Coordinate with Grid/Interconnection to meet standards and milestones.
• Specify components: cabling, transformers, switchgear, UPS, DC systems.
• Lead design optimization to reduce cost while maintaining safety and quality.
• Prepare scopes, specs, diagrams across concept to execution phases.
• Review EPC documents at 30%, 60%, and as-built stages.
