EHS Manager, Plant Operations

The ‘EHS Manager, Plant Operations’ is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs within the automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and drives continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, ensuring awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Lead investigations into EHS incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure all operations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHS practices, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to EHS activities, incidents, and compliance.
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, security, and other departments to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee occupational health clinic operations, ensuring all company employees receive the highest quality of care across plant operations.
  • Provide clean and effective reporting on EHS performance across operations and ensure integration of key leading metrics within responsible departments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of related experience.
  • Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in EHS software and tools.
Working Conditions

Environment: A mix of office work and regular engagement with the manufacturing floor operations to drive critical issue home and support progress.

Physical Demands: Ability to conduct site inspections and investigations, which may involve physical activity.
