Title: Manager, Digital Engineering

Location: Bellevue, WA

TerraPower is seeking passionate and forward-thinking professionals interested in the research, development, and deployment of advanced nuclear reactors to help address global energy issues.

Manager, Digital Engineering

We’re looking for a highly motivated Digital Engineering Manager to lead collaboration, design, and delivery of our innovative digital products.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager for Engineering Processes, you will provide technical and organizational leadership for the Digital Engineering team, ensure coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders, and support integration of digital tools with our CMIS platform to streamline engineering data management and enhance efficiency and scalability.

This role involves leading software engineers to design a performant, extensible platform that reduces costs and risks while meeting project priorities. You will also mentor engineers, promote best practices, and present technical solutions to stakeholders. If you are a strategic leader passionate about software-driven innovation, we want you to help shape our digital future.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of software developers to deliver robust software aligned with product requirements.
  2. Engage with internal users to prioritize development efforts based on needs and requests.
  3. Coordinate efforts across teams to ensure seamless integration of tools like SolidWorks PDM, Maximo, LMS, and ERP systems.
  4. Foster a culture of Agile development, mentoring teams in best practices such as CI/CD and testing.
  5. Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  6. Support engineers from various disciplines in software development for their projects.
  7. Collaborate with IT to secure infrastructure and ensure scalability and compliance.
  8. Oversee technical execution, including code quality and software design standards.
  9. Act as a liaison to translate stakeholder requirements into development plans.
  10. Contribute to strategic initiatives like preparing CMIS for commercialization.
  11. Manage quality assurance processes related to software development.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years managing software teams, delivering complex applications.
  • Expertise in Python, Django, JavaScript (Vue.js preferred), API design, AWS, GitHub workflows.
  • Understanding of software development principles, CMIS or PLM experience preferred.
  • Experience integrating COTS tools and in-house solutions with scalable architectures.
  • Strong cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and leadership.
  • Passion for mentoring, Agile practices, and scalable software solutions.
  • Ability to work within the nuclear regulatory environment.
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and tools in relevant industries is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with engineering data management systems and integrations.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards (ISO 27001, ITAR, OWASP).
  • Experience in nuclear industry software quality assurance (e.g., NQA-1).
  • Experience in SaaS and licensing models.
Job Functions:

Job Details:

Salary Range Level 12: $169,922 - $235,464

Salary Range Level 13: $194,197 - $279,158

*Salaries are within 0.90–1.0 of the midpoint, based on experience and qualifications. This range applies to Washington State.
