Cognizant’s Software Platform & Engineering service line provides transformative modern engineering services at scale for our clients. Comprised of four practices – Digital Experience (DX), Digital Engineering, Application Development & Management and Quality Engineering & Assurance – we provide end-to-end value to organizations looking to escape legacy constraints, modernize technical architecture and culture to be future fit, and produce greenfield products and services.

The Technology Specialist will provide deep expertise in one or more of the Software and Platform Engineering Practice supporting Cognizant’s client account teams in vertical markets and their account expansion plans into new markets and business areas. SLS’s are usually assigned into existing markets and some SLS’ will also engage in new logo markets. The Technology Specialist will be a “trusted advisor” to both the client and the Cognizant Client Partner blending strategic, tactical and ‘street savvy’ sales experience.

Responsibilities:
  1. Drive growth in revenue by prioritization, structuring, and leading digital engagements for a $50M+ business unit and be the chief growth officer for that portfolio.
  2. Partner with practices and delivery organization to co-define and drive transformation strategy and service offerings across all areas of Software & Platform Engineering that covers digital engineering, application development and maintenance and quality engineering.
  3. Map client organization, build outstanding relationships with new business units, and build a growth strategy for developing new business opportunities for Software & Platform Engineering that covers digital engineering, application development and maintenance and quality engineering.
  4. Forge relationships through consultative/industry leading transformative led conversation with VP/CXO decision makers across IT and business teams in the Financial Services, Fintech and Insurance domain.
  5. Lead the design and implementation of digital transformation projects to enhance business processes and customer experiences.
  6. Oversee the development and execution of digital strategies to drive business growth and innovation.
  7. Provide technical expertise in Azure and AWS Cloud to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
  8. Envision and build new opportunities within existing and new businesses.
  9. Help account leadership and delivery leadership by highlighting risks and issues related to the engagements and support them in mitigating those. Lead client conversations for the same as needed.
  10. Develop and carry out Account Growth strategy and business plans for Software & Platform Engineering services.
  11. Responsible for growth, Business Development & Customer Relationship activities and support delivery transformation and fulfillment of key talent needs of the client.
  12. Work in a matrix organization, enabling prospecting and other sales management goals.
  13. Lead operations and maintain process and system hygiene to enable system oriented KPI’s and measurement.
  14. Run end-to-end lead generation, sales, business development and RFI/RFP processes is a plus.
  15. Drive growth and deliver on revenue and booking (Total Commercial Value) targets.
  16. Lead/support financial and contract terms, negotiation, and outsourcing discussions.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  1. 17+ years of demonstrated ability in either consulting, practice management, or delivery transformation with hands-on skills in two of the core areas: Digital engineering, software engineering, platform engineering, product engineering, legacy modernization, SRE, application management services.
  2. Very strong understanding and hands-on exposure/skill in leading, designing, managing at least one Gen AI based project.
  3. At least 5+ years of Banking & Financial Services, Fintech and Insurance domain experience.
  4. At least 2+ years of hands-on experience in business development/presales/sales/practice growth and management.
  5. Good experience in Cloud related technologies to design and implement scalable solutions.
  6. Proven ability to develop and execute digital strategies that drive business growth.
  7. Experience in the areas of Digital engineering, application development and quality engineering practices.
  8. Proven ability to bring growth in technology consulting, Digital engineering, application development and maintenance practices with supporting and/or leading sales lifecycle from opportunity identification (focus on farming) to negotiation/contracting is key.
  9. Capable of working and leading clients in a consultative way to envision, structure and specify solution requirements. Demonstrated ability to run deals ranging in size from $250K to $10M+.
  10. Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills. Proficient in structuring and editing presentations and proposals, demonstrating the use of both self-generated and colleague-provided content.
  11. Self-drive, flexibility and ownership of objectives.
  12. Logical and structured approach to presenting opinions/views and interpretation of information.
  13. Demonstrated ability to influence CXO minus one decision makers and develop followership among colleagues and subordinates.
Preferred Skills:
  1. Experience in leading/managing structured large deals in the Banking & Financial areas.
  2. Technical Knowledge of agentic framework is a plus.
  3. Cloud Certifications/Gen AI.
