Tyson Foods in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Customer Development Manager to drive Retail Poultry sales, grow market share, and execute promotional plans with Hy-Vee and other retailers. The role focuses on maximizing volume and profitability while upholding Tyson’s commitment to quality and customer service.

Collaboration with Sales, Strategy, and Supply Chain will be required, along with travel up to six times per year.

Job Details:

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for selling Retail Poultry products , increasing market share through optimized merchandising plans, and executing actions that support and amplify customer promotions. The Customer Development Manager (CDM) is also responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships with Hy-vee and other retailers. The CDM will work to maximize volume potential and profitability while upholding Tyson’s standard of providing high-quality products and excellent customer service.

Category responsibilities include, but are not limited to, RVAP, IQF, and Cornish business segments. This position is responsible for conducting product pricing and promotional programs based on customer, direct, and adjacent market profitability, as well as personal objectives. This position will work closely with internal partners across the Poultry business, including Customer Strategy and Execution, Sales, and Business Units, as well as external brokers and customers, to achieve AOP sales goals and profitability metrics

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience.

Experience:

• 5 plus years sales experience.

Computer Skills:

• Requires basic computer skills.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills:

• Project management and/or strategic planning experience is required.

Travel:

• Up to 6 trips per year.
