Join to apply for the Manager, Creative Innovation role at Netflix

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

About The Role

At Netflix, we empower storytellers to shape the future of entertainment through purposeful experimentation and thoughtful integration of new tools and methods. Our Creative Innovation team works across Studio and Product to identify, pilot, and scale emerging solutions that unlock creative potential, streamline production, and elevate the storytelling experience.

We are seeking a Manager, Creative Innovation who will play a key leadership role in architecting and executing innovation-driven production experiments, particularly in areas of new creative tooling and next-gen workflows. This position works closely with filmmakers and internal teams to bring bold ideas from pitch to prototype to production.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role that blends creative strategy, technical insight, and strong executional rigor. You’ll serve as a connective tissue between production, technology, and external partners, supporting filmmaker-facing innovation initiatives and working with stakeholders across Creative Innovation and Eyeline Studios to design thoughtful engagements around speculative tools and techniques.

About You

You’re a production-savvy creative leader with a strategic mindset and a bias for action. Equally fluent in storytelling and production innovation, you bring empathy, structure, and momentum to every project. Whether you're building a team from scratch, sitting with a director to map out a new creative vision, or managing a high-stakes experiment on-set, you lead with clarity, confidence, and curiosity.

You are passionate about how technology can be a partner to creativity, and you see emerging tools not as flashy novelties but as opportunities to deepen, accelerate, or unlock new kinds of storytelling. You don’t need every answer upfront; you’re energized by ambiguity and have the experience and instincts to turn vision into impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Creator-Facing Engagements: Collaborate closely with Senior Manager of Creative Innovation on all creator-facing projects, including sourcing opportunities, early meetings, building teams, and scoping. Partner directly with filmmakers and creative leadership to co-design pilots that support their vision.
  • Execution of Production Innovation Pilots: Lead innovation pilots from concept to execution, aligning internal and external partners to test new technologies and services that address real production needs, while ensuring on-set success and strategic alignment with Netflix priorities.
  • Partner Alignment: Collaborate closely with Eyeline Studios and Studio cross-functional teams to ensure that efforts are integrated across Netflix’s broader innovation ecosystem. Pair the right service and technology partners to each opportunity.
  • Insight Capture & Synthesis: Work with Consumer Insights to capture key learnings from pilots and engagements. Translate outcomes into recommendations and share learnings with leadership stakeholders to inform future strategy and investments.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in film/TV production, creative development, or technology-driven roles supporting production innovation
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams and working directly with filmmakers and creative stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of creative workflows across pre-production, production, and post, especially how new tools and services can intersect with traditional pipelines
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships and surface clear, actionable insights
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and loosely defined initiatives, with the ability to drive clarity and forward momentum
  • Thoughtful approach to innovation, enthusiastic about experimentation, but grounded in what is meaningful and scalable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with internal and external tech teams (e.g. VFX, virtual production, AI, R&D, or platform services)
  • Familiarity with strategic vendor and technology partner evaluation
  • Prior involvement in creative tool R&D, emerging content formats, or new pipeline workflows with filmmakers
  • Strong EQ and cultural fluency, experience collaborating with creators and teams across regions and genres

If you’re excited by the challenge of shaping how creators engage with the next era of storytelling tools, and you have the vision, production instincts, and collaborative drive to bring it to life, we’d love to hear from you.
