Job summary

Aquent is partnering with a global leader in consumer goods to appoint a senior financial reporting leader responsible for consolidated statements and global reporting. You will oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closes and provide critical insights to senior leadership.

Lead and mentor a team of analysts, drive process improvements, and ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC requirements and internal controls. CPA or advanced degree highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • 7+ years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of financial statements, technical accounting and SEC requirements.
  • Demonstrated systems, processes and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate consolidated financial statements (income, balance sheet, cash flow) monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts in global reporting.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex accounting matters to global teams.
  • Drive efficiency projects and strengthen internal financial controls.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and external auditors on reporting.

We are seeking a visionary and meticulous financial professional to lead our core financial reporting functions. In this impactful role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our consolidated financial statements, providing essential insights that inform strategic decisions across our global enterprise. What You’ll Do:
  • Ensure accurate and timely consolidated financial statements and analyses on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Leverage expertise in general ledger systems and consolidation platforms like HFM to provide insightful financial performance analyses.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex accounting matters to global teams, ensuring consistent and compliant reporting practices.
  • Initiate and actively participate in special projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and streamlining departmental processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, adapting to evolving conditions and strengthening internal financial controls.
  • Maintain robust process documentation and policies, ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of established financial controls.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, external stakeholders, and audit teams to deliver comprehensive financial insights.
What You’ll Bring:

To succeed in this role, you will possess a strong foundation in finance and accounting, coupled with a passion for leadership and continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of business experience in accounting or finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, technical accounting, and/or SEC requirements.
  • Proven aptitude for systems, processes, and driving continuous improvement.

  • CPA certification or an accounting/finance related advanced degree.
  • Experience in a multinational company or a “Big 4” accounting firm.
  • Prior experience leading and developing a team.
  • Experience with accounting consolidation systems, specifically HFM.
  • Proficiency with SAP and Workiva.
